Plaza Hotel areas gain landmark status

City officials landmarked the Palm Court, the Oak Bar and the two main lobbies of the Plaza Hotel and also approved a plan by the Fifth Avenue fixture's new owners for the multimillion-dollar restoration of a stained-glass dome dating back to its 1907 debut.

The Landmark Preservation Committee voted Tuesday to designate eight public spaces inside the internationally known hotel, while offering its approval for work on the spectacular dome above the Palm Court, said committee chairman Bob Tierney. The proposal now moves on to the city Planning Commission.

(Pink Sheets:SALDQ - News; The "Company") announced today that it has entered into a letter agreement (the "Agreement") with the Official Committee of Unsecured Creditors appointed in the Company's case (the "Committee"), Crescent Real Estate Equities Limited Partnership ("Crescent") and Cedarlane Natural Foods, Inc. ("Cedarlane") whereby Crescent and Cedarlane will sponsor a recapitalization of the Company pursuant to a plan of reorganization.

Unusually hot and dry weather strengthens wheat market

Wheat futures moved higher on continued concern over the state of hard red spring (HRS) crops in the northern plains, which endured mostly hot and dry weather this week.

Crop stress in spring wheat areas was leading the uptrend in Wednesday's trade, and unfavorable weather conditions were expected to persist through to next week. Traders noted that strength in the Minneapolis wheat market was helping firm Kansas City and Chicago wheat prices as well.
Online Travel Seen As 'Attractively Valued'

Merrill Lynch analyst Justin Post maintained a "neutral" view on the online travel industry and said Sabre Holdings' Travelocity has the best U.S. net revenue outlook in the group.

"We believe the online travel group is attractively valued," wrote the analyst in a recent research note. However, "momentum investors returning to the Internet may prefer higher growth opportunities in other large-cap Internet names."
